| Title: The Perfect Entertaiment Day in Durham | |
| Category: Entertaiment | Author: Dukie |
Where to Eat... |
|
Breakfast |
You have to start at Elmo's Diner. The food is great, and is pretty much one of the only diners in the area. It's a fun atmosphere with a lot of college kids as its clientele. |
Lunch |
For lunch, you have to go to Bali Hai. It is a Mongolian BBQ that is really affordable and delicious at the same time. Definitely get the Spicy #7 and make sure you come up with a strategy for stacking your bowl before you begin! |
Dinner |
For dinner, mix it up and go for a nice meal. Go to the restaurant at the Washington Duke Hotel. It is right off the campus of Duke University and has great food in a very upscale environment. If you'd rather eat a little more casual, they have a bar restaurant as well. In there, you can still order anything you want from the regular restaurant menu. |
What to Do... |
|
Morning |
In the morning, I would go to the gym on Duke's west campus, and then if it is a nice day, go for a walk in the Duke Gardens. They are beautiful, and a great place to lounge out in the sun. |
Afternoon |
Then I would attend a Duke basketball game (since it's a weekend they would probably have a day game). The games in Cameron Indoor Stadium are so much fun and it is the best place to watch a college basketball game. |
Evening |
After dinner, you have to go to trivia at James Joyce if it is a Tuesday, or Big Beers at Satisfactions. Then, go to Shooters. It is a laid back, stereotypical college bar. There is a mechanical bull and a cage to dance in. |
Late Night |
After Shooters, you have to go to Cosmic Cantina for food. The food is dirt cheap, but amazingly delicious. IT is also jsut a very short walk from campus. |
Comments |
Durham has a lot to offer because Duke University has contributed to the rising wealth and prospoerity of the area. |
